Traditional arcade game. Use the mouse to move your bat and prevent the bouncing ball from falling off the playfield. The ball will then destroy the blocks and score points; clear the playfield to proceed to the next level. During the game, random items appear on the screen; they can be useful, but some have a rather painful effect.
Aristrox Gold (formerly titled Astrorix Gold) contains 15 different levels. The password feature allows you start at later stages right away, which of course include some additional surprises. There is a high score list to keep record of your achievements, but those uninterested in this can play an alternate non-arcade mode that disables scoring and limits the progress lost when you run out of balls. It is possible in both modes to suspend a game in progress. Before you start you can adjust the number of your balls, to make the game as tolerant of mistakes as you want it to be.
