(This also applies to other RPGs!) The more monsters you defeat, the more experience you get, so your heroes will become stronger and stronger and fighting against difficult enemies will be easier. Winning battles also gets you money to buy items. Of course you get injured in battle, but that's what inns are for. - Always put on the best equipment you can get hold of (and that is equippable by the individual characters), it can only make you better. If you're short of the cash to buy that great new armor, just run around and fight monsters - that will not only get you money but also experience (see above). You can also sell old items that you don't need anymore (but not at all stores). - Enemies in dungeons you've already solved will respawn after certain plot events. For instance, the Cave of Vision is refilled when you talk to the secretary in Ashford. This allows you to gain additional experience when you come back later. - Always have some potions with you, just in case your MP run out. Antidotes or medicine may be useful, too, especially during the later Chapters. - Save as often as possible. When you lose a battle you will end up back in town and lose a lot of money, so it's probably better to load a savegame. - If nevertheless the monsters are too tough for you, then go and fight against easier ones to gain experience until you are strong enough. But note that as a rule stronger monsters get you more experience points than weaker ones. - By the end of Chapter Three, you will have eight party members, but only four characters can participate in battle. You can use the Exchange command to select them. Note that inactive characters only get half the experience. - By the way, you can stumble upon rabbits around Phool in Chapter One. Try to catch them, you will earn much experience and money this way. Unfortunately these encounters are rare, and most of the time the rabbits run away from you. For some reason they're even immune to magic. 2.2) Chapter One: Lords and Hussies 2.2.1) Phool This is where Iysayana lives - until now. Odilbert tells her about an awesome party. Needless to say we must go there. - You can always rest in Iysayana's house to restore your energy. - Go to the store and buy a Hairband for Iysayana and a Bandanna for Odil (some provisional head protection). Iysayana also needs a Robe. Earn money by fighting random battles in the overworld or at the cave. Before you start exploring the land and fighting for money, you should first of all head for the Cave of Vision to meet Odil, since you want him to gain some experience points, too. By the way, you can't yet cross the Ash River, so there is not much to discover anyway. 2.2.2) Cave of Vision The cave (also known as Cave of Pleasure) is located southwest of Phool. - Right at the entrance Odilbert joins you. - The southern passage at the first intersection leads to a treasure chest. Open it to find a Short Sword (better weapon for Iysayana). - Head northwest to the stairs. You can get a Cure Potion along the way. - On the second level of the cave, head southeast for a chest with a Cure Potion. - Afterwards, go southwest and follow the passage to the party hall. - When at the party, Iysayana can search the baskets in the corner to get two units of Medicine. (You cannot return here later.) - Talk to the girl behind the counter. Iysayana will become a Follower of Yw'nafob and wake up in another hall. Talk to the Great Goddess Yw'nafob and her angel Lisa, who will charge Iysayana to become a heroine and save Ashford from Lord Shadmyr. You also receive a necklace - put it on to increase your magic resistance. You can now leave the cave and team up with Odil again. 2.2.3) Castle Ashford - Talk to the secretary about Lord Shadmyr. - You cannot yet get equipment from the armory. 2.2.4) Ashford - You'll meet Lisa again. She suggests you to ask the sorceress Erzibeth for help. However, Erzibeth has been abducted by some goblins. - The local stores offer new items. Equip Iysayana with an Axe. Also get both characters a Buckler, a Cap and a Padded Armor (however, there is also an armor in Ruminant Tower, along with numerous Lewonces). Moreover, you should buy some Life Herbs. - The inn charges a lump sum of 50 Lewonces for the whole party. - Later in the game you can take part in a quiz and win a Tiara, the best helmet in this game. The answers: 1. What is the name of the lost king? - Magnus Greengelding 2. Which town can you visit in this game? - Topple 3. What sort of monsters can you meet in the Gerwulf Cave? - Imps 4. Which spell affects multiple enemies? - Ice Gust 5. Who wants Iysayana? - Bryan 2.2.5) Ruminant Tower The tower stands in the northwest of the map. - Go into the backroom to find Lewonces and a Padded Armor. - Operate the ground switch on the second floor. Otherwise you will end up at a closed door later on. - Don't miss the Cure Potion on the third floor. - On the fourth floor you must fight five Dark Soldiers to free Erzibeth. 2.2.6) Erzibeth's Home You can find the hut near Ashford at the edge of the forest. - Erzibeth plans to reveal Shadmyr's true identity with the Elixir of Life. First, however, you must obtain the Vial of Life Blood, an ingredient of the Elixir, from the nearby forest cave. Erzibeth now joins the party. Get her a Padded Armor, a Buckler and a Hairband. 2.2.7) Topple The third and last town. The village is located to the southwest of Ashford. - You can rest at the inn for 10 Lewonces. - Buy a Knife for Erzibeth, as well as any other items you think you might need. Some Antidote would make sense, in case a bat poisons you. There is also a free Knife in the nearby Gerwulf Cave, but the monsters around there are quite tough. - The cat is unimportant for the course of the game. 2.2.8) Forest Cave - There's a chest with some Lewonces north of the entrance. - Operate the two switches in the northwest of the cave. Now there should be a third switch, making the switch in the northeast appear. Step on that one, too, and you can finally open the chest with the Vial of Life Blood. However, after creating the Elixir you will find yourself surrounded by guards. Now Iysayana has to fight the first battle alone, and then a second one with Erzibeth. Eventually the guards will retreat, but have captured Odil. - Go southwest from where you fought the soldiers for a Magic Potion. - Search the small table in the far southeast of the cave (near an empty chest) to find the secret passage. 2.2.9) Secret Passage - Just follow the passage. Along the way you can find chests with Lewonces and a Short Spear. - Pull the lever to open a door. - There is another lever behind the chest with three Cure Potions on the wall. Throw it to open a nice shortcut back to town. - Ascend the stairs in the southeast to get into the dungeon. 2.2.10) Ashford Dungeon Odil is detained in here somewhere. Other cells contain some items. - First of all you must follow the passage until you find the warden. Talk to him to get the Dungeon Key, so you can enter the cells. - Go back to the northern corridor. Odil is in the second cell from the left on the southern side. Free him as soon as possible - you know, the experience points. Note: You can now head back to the quiz in Ashford and get a useful item. - The right cell on the northern side has a chest containing a Brain Booster. This potion raises the intelligence of a character, thus increasing the maximum magic points. - There is another chest in the right cell on the northern side in the southern corridor. You can find a Knife inside. - In the left cell you can find a skeleton. Search it for a Wizard Potion. Follow the eastern corridor to leave the dungeon. Now Shadmyr turns out to be a vampire lord planning to make Ashford the land of the undead. Unfortunately he was prepared for your visit. Your heroes are paralyzed and imprisoned. 2.2.11) Prison Cave Iysayana is awakened by the knight Dimitri, who joins the struggle against Shadmyr. However, the characters are held separately. You must free them before you can leave the cave. If you need a healing, you can pay 100 Lewonces to Lisa. - Go northwest first. The chests contain a Life Potion and a Skull Key. The southwestern passage is just a dead end. - Now head southeast, west and south. Go east at the intersection to find the Bronze Key. Now you can go northwest and release Odil. - Get the Golden Key from the southwestern corner. Go north from there to find Erzibeth. - Now you can head south again and follow the eastern passage to reach the exit and a Small Shield (better than your Bucklers). - From Erzibeth's room go east and through the gate for some Lewonces and the Black Key. - Head northeast to finally reach the entrance of the hideout of Shadmyr's army. Now you must fight some of the undead. The party will then realize that they cannot defeat this superior force and decide to get the garlic hidden in the Gerwulf Cave. But first you should pay another visit to the Castle. Since Dimitri is in your party, you can now go shopping at the armory. Equip all heroes with a Leather Armor and a Small Shield, Odilbert with an Iron Claw and Dimitri with an Axe. 2.2.12) Gerwulf Cave - You can find a Knife in the southwest, a Magic Potion in the northwest and a Life Potion in the northeast. - You can open the gate in the northern part of the cave with the Skull Key. The chest contains the Garlic, but it is guarded by a rather tough (and magic resistant) Wraith. If you have trouble hitting it try Odilbert's Attack Up spell. 2.2.13) Undead Quarters Enter through the stairs in the prison cave (where you fought the Zombies; in case you forgot, the cave is located south of Ashford). This dungeon is full of one-way teleporters, and you won't see them till you step on them once. - Go west to find a chest. It contains a Long Sword, the best weapon for Iysayana und Dimitri in this episode. - Follow the northern passage until you are teleported to the southeastern room. From there go north for the only Scale Mail in this Chapter. - Now go west again. From the last room, the northern passage will take you back to the exit, since you don't have the Magic Key. So take the southern passage instead and you will get beamed to a chest. Here you must fight another Wraith (which is identical to the one in the Gerwulf Cave) to get the Key and three Magic Potions. Look for another teleporter to get back to a room in the middle of the dungeon. - Go west and north again. Now that you've got the Magic Key, you can pass the teleporter by request. - Eventually go east into the next room. Here is another teleporter leading to the last three chests. They contain one Magic and two Life Potions. - Defeat Lord Shadmyr and Iysayana has made it through her first adventure! The vampire is (naturally) much stronger, or at least more enduring than his soldiers and resists ice and wind spells, but if you hold out long enough he (?) shouldn't be a big problem. 2.3) Chapter Two: Queen Spirit 2.3.1) Yw'nafob Temple This Chapter has Iysayana and Odilbert traveling to Ulthia to meet with Princess Victoria. Note that you start out with the Yw'nafob Necklace, so don't forget to equip it on Iysayana. - Lisa will always tell you what to do next (in case you forgot). - You can receive a full healing by paying 100 Lewonces. 2.3.2) Blabford - The inn charges you 10 Lewonces. In addition to restoring your energy you will also be cured of poison. - Get both characters Leather Armors. You can also buy Short Bows and Hard Bucklers if you want, but this may be a waste of money because you can buy even stronger equipment at Castle Ulthia. Then again, you will meet tougher monsters on your way there. - Ulfried Gerdenwald asks you to defeat a tribe of goblins. This quest is optional, but it will earn you a Ring Mail and a Ring (in addition to the treasures and experience you get in the cave). - Once you have been to Surpendor (Surpnym or Castle Faela), Quiz Boy will show up in Blabford. Get everything right for a free Ring. The answers: 1. Who was the boss enemy at the Witch Tower? - A chimera 2. What was the old name of Castle Faela? - Surpia 3. What item is not being sold at the Blabford store? - Flail 4. What spell do Earth Crabs cast? - None of the above 5. What is the name of the King of Ulthia? - Ernbrecht Selvan 2.3.3) Goblin Cave Note: You may want to wait to explore this cave until you have your third party member, in order for her to gain experience as well. Naturally, this means that Iysayana and Odilbert will be a bit weaker when facing the stronger monsters in the next locations. - You can find a treasure chest with two Magic Potions in the southeast and 200 Lewonces in the northern part of the cave. - The northwestern door leads to the Ancient Dungeon. You cannot enter until you have you received the corresponding quest, however. - You will find Ergnagl in a room to the northeast. He does have several guards, but shouldn't be too hard to defeat. (You can try mass spells, like Gust.) The chests contain two Axes and a Life Herb. Head back to Ulfried for additional items. 2.3.4) Castle Ulthia - Buy Flails, Scale Mails and Tiaras for both characters. You can also find a Tiara at the Witch Tower. - The inn charges 90 Lewonces per stay. It also cures poison and paralysis. - Turns out that neither the Princess nor the King has any clues. Instead, they ask you to deal with the local witches. 2.3.5) Witch Tower - Go up the right staircase. Eventually you will come across two levers, but only one of them can be moved. Do it, then grab the Lewonces from the chest on the left. Watch out for the hidden teleporter in the middle of the passage, which will send you back to the first floor. - Now explore the other part of the tower. You will find two more chests containing a Tiara and a Cure Potion, as well as another lever for you to move. Do it and go back to the eastern part, where you can finally throw the last lever and go up the stairs. - Paulinus is not impressed. You have to fight a Chimera, which shouldn't be much of a problem. Paulinus will leave, turning out to be a warlock who killed time by mind-controlling Kalindra. Now that he's gone, the young witch teams up with you. - Don't forget to open the last chest for two Wizard Potions. Also read the sign to learn the ingredients for a harpy potion. Return to the Castle for the next quest. Mad Wizard Queen Faela demands the Head of Legion, so you must retrieve it from the Ancient Dungeon. Head back to the goblin cave to find the entrance. 2.3.6) Ancient Dungeon Here you have to find several teleporters and read signs with information about the Ancients, then answer some questions at the end. - Chests in this dungeon contain two Magic Potions, 50 Lewonces, a Large Shield and a Life Herb. - Teleporters are frequently hidden in alcoves. Look for them, so you don't miss any critical signs. - Eventually you will be asked three questions. Of course, you can actually just try again until you happen to answer correctly ... 1. What are the Yyrkah allergic to? - Mayonnaise 2. Where did Tharon hail from? - Meoryn 3. When did Tharon die? - 4420 AA - Go west from the sign and you'll be teleported to the last part of the dungeon. However, if you walk around the teleporter and go into the alcove you can find a secret room with a Long Sword and 222 Lewonces. - Grab the Flail and the Life Potion from the chests, then talk to Vile, who wants the Head for someone else. Defeat him, read the final sign and open the chest to find the artifact. Now, the whole thing about the Head of Legion was just a distraction, as Soulhunter has kidnapped Victoria. You are now able to go to Surpendor. 2.3.7) Castle Faela Faela turns out to be megalomaniac. The party ends up in the dungeon, but is rescued by Prince Urs. - Don't forget to take the Open Helm from the chest. 2.3.8) Surpnym - The inn charges 72 Lewonces, curing everything. - Equip Iysayana and Kalindra with Open Helms. Also buy some Scrolls of Flying, for immediate transport to any town you've already been to. (None of the characters in this Chapter can actually learn the spell.) You can now meet Quiz Boy in Blabford. 2.3.9) Dorftal - A stay costs 50 Lewonces. You will be cured of poison, but not of paralysis. - A man who claims to be the god K'guf will give you a Magic Wand, the best weapon for Odilbert and Kalindra. Another resident gives you a Life Herb if you know the ingredients for a harpy potion from the Witch Tower. - Equip Odilbert with an Iron Knuckle and Kalindra with a Long Spear (unless they use the Magic Wand), and Iysayana with either of them. Also get Odilbert and Kalindra Scale Mails, Mage Shields and Rings. - Once you have completed Faela's Tower (as well as Quiz Boy's challenge), return here to meet the Quiz Master. Answer ten questions for Iysayana to learn the Holy Light spell. 1. What is the name of the goblin chieftain? - Ergnagl 2. What is the name of the cave north of Dorftal? - Tusker Cave 3. What is Iysayana's surname? - Snowfluke 4. How many chests are there in the Ancient Dungeon? - 9 5. What is the name of the general store in Surpnym? - Fowl Shop 6. What spell does Kalindra learn when she reaches level 38? - Flame Burst 7. What is Arty's surname? - Cloudseeker 8. Who is engaged with Princess Victoria? - Magnus 9. What did you receive from Quiz Boy? - Ring 10. What is the name of the inn in Blabford? - It doesn't have a name 2.3.10) Faela's Tower - A chest on level 2 contains a Life Potion. - On level 3, you will find a chest with 8 Lewonces, a lever to throw and two holes. Drop down the eastern hole to find two Wizard Potions, then the western hole for two more levers, allowing you to free Arty. Get him a Large Shield, a Scale Mail, a Long Spear (or a Magic Wand) and a Ring from Dorftal, as well as an Open Helm from Surpnym. Moving the levers will also allow you to reach a chest on the first level (which contains a High Potion) and another one on the third level (which contains 450 Lewonces). - Examining the painting will open the staircase to the forth level, where you can find a Magic Potion. - On level 5, you will encounter Faela, who turns into a succubus. She turns out to be rather easy to kill in this form, however. (If you do have problems then you really need to improve your characters, since Succubi appear later as regular enemies!) After the battle, Arty will bring Victoria back home. - Return to the top floor. The alcove on the right has a teleport to the last chest, which includes a Wizard Robe, the best armor for Odilbert and Kalindra in this Chapter. Head back to the Yw'nafob Temple to learn that Paulinus has taken Yai to the Tusker Cave near Dorftal. Go there to reunite with Arty. Also don't forget about the Quiz Master in Dorftal. 2.3.11) Kingdom Cards This is an optional dungeon in the mountains between Surpendor and Ulthia. I recommend that you get Arty before going there. To enter, you need to buy Ice Scrolls in Dorftal. There are no puzzles in this dungeon, just rooms, corridors, chests and random battles. - You can find a Wizard Robe and a Miracle Potion in the southwestern part of the dungeon, a Power Booster and an Archmage Potion in the southeast and a Nimbleness Booster in the northeast. - Follow the northwestern path and you will eventually encounter the Knight of Clubs. Defeat him and open the chest to find the Master Sword (best weapon for Iysayana and Arty). 2.3.12) Tusker Cave Arty will rejoin your party at the entrance. - Go north to find two Magic Potions, then southwest and northeast for a Life Booster. The northern chest contains Lewonces. - Go down the stairs in the north to reach the second level. Go east for a Life Herb, west for a Long Spear and north for the baddies. - The demon should not be too hard to beat, although it is resistant to all regular attack spells except lightning. Return to the castle dungeon, where a secret door has been opened. 2.3.13) Secret Laboratory Force fields are blocking the corridors. You have to find and defeat several vampires in order to get rid of them. There are some hidden teleporters, too. - Go north and make your way to a chest with two Life Herbs. Proceed north for a teleport to send you back. - Defeat the first vampire in the southwest to open more passageways. - Go to the eastern room, then south from the sign to find a teleport to another room. Go north to find a Long Bow, which can be used by Iysayana, Odilbert or Arty. - Find the second vampire north from where the first one was. - Again, use the teleport in the room with the sign. Then go east this time and you will reach a secret chest with a Cross. Equip it on any character to increase his magic defense. Search the corners for a teleport back. - Now go northeast to a second sign, then east from there. You will be transported to the third and last vampire. After the battle, look for another teleport, then go northwest from where you arrive. Go west and south from the third sign for another hidden chest, which contains a Magic Booster. - Go back to where the second vampire was to get a Chain Mail (best armor for Iysayana and Arty) and a Strength Booster (great for low-HP characters like Odilbert). - The lower level has three teleporters: The right one leads to a secret room with two High Potions and two Wizard Potions, the middle one is the exit and the left one leads to the final boss. - Lord Shadmyr uses a lich form this time and is naturally much stronger than he was in the last Chapter. He is resistant to all regular attack spells, but Holy Light will make short work of him. 2.4) Chapter Three: The Return of the Kings Again, don't forget to equip the Yw'nafob Necklace on Iysayana. 2.4.1) Neliveth - Iysayana, Odil and Kalindra are exploring Nardonia. An adventurer informs them of a guy called Viorel awaiting them in the nearby cave. - The inn charges 50 Lewonces, also curing poisonings. - Buy for Odilbert an Iron Knuckle, for Kalindra a Long Spear and for Iysayana either of them, as well as a Ring Mail. Also buy Tiaras for Iysayana and Odilbert, and Rings for Odilbert and Kalindra. - A collector asks you to get him an "Ugo's Thingummy" from Ashford. This quest cannot be solved until later in the game, but you will receive the Perfect Bow as a reward, an excellent weapon for Arty. - Once you have beaten the Sword Temple and the Quiz Master's challenge, you can return here to find the Quiz King. If you can solve all of his questions you receive a Faerie Wand, the best weapon for Caishee. 1. What item could you not find at the Sword Temple? - Magic Booster 2. What legendary weapon did you have to find? - Sword of Frosta 3. Who resurrected Shadmyr? - Leo 4. What is the name of the bounty hunter who was going to steal the Head of Legion? - Vile Fett 5. Which of these weapons is the most powerful? - Comet Staff 6. What is the name of the King of Surpendor? - Urs Zinsli 7. What did the Quiz Master not ask about? - Number of keys 8. What is the best armor in the game? - Obsidian Armor 9. What is the name of King Magnus's fiancée? - Victoria Selvan 10. Which of these dungeons didn't have a boss? - Yw'nafob Temple 11. Which legendary hero carried the Sword of Frosta? - Van Jon 12. What is the name of the river Ashford lies on? - Ash River 13. What is the name of the famous alchemist? - Rabah ben Arif 14. Which spell does the highest damage? - Ultimate Bolt 15. Paulinus is supposed to help destroy what? - the System 2.4.2) Neliveth Cave Try not to fight any monsters until you have found Viorel, so he can achieve the experience as well. There is a lot of annoying poisoning Scorpions in here. - There are treasure chests with money and a High Potion in the eastern room. There is also a Life Herb in the west, a Magic Wand in the northwest and a Wizard Potion in the northeast. - You will find Viorel in one of the northern rooms. Equip him with the Magic Wand, a Ring Mail, a Tiara and a Ring. 2.4.3) Mystic Skulls Enter the cave to the south of Neliveth. The doors require passwords; read the wall signs to learn them. Evil Blood Spirits and Fiends are able to cast some strong spells. - Go east at the beginning to find Medicine and some Lewonces. There is a Tiara in the northeastern room. The second level has a Wizard Robe in the western room and two Life Herbs in the north. - One of the mages will completely heal you for 120 Lewonces. - Talk to Benoni for some useful (and much useless) information. You have to return to him later in the game to get Arty and a Keycard. - A warrior sells you a Battle Axe for 2000 Lewonces. This is the best weapon Iysayana can get right now, although it is quite overpriced. - You can earn yourself an Obsidian Armor by retrieving Khorim's Armor from Khorim's Fortress later in the game. - Buy a Long Bow for Odilbert (also one for Iysayana if you don't want to buy the Battle Axe; but note that the next dungeon has a Long Bow for free) and Magic Wands for Kalindra and Viorel. Also get Iysayana a Chain Mail and everyone else Wizard Robes, Open Helms for everyone except Odilbert and Mage Shields for everyone except Iysayana. - There is another dungeon below, but you cannot enter it at this time. - Leave via the eastern exit and you can now enter here without going through the dungeon all over again. 2.4.4) Castle Osprey Go east from Neliveth to reach the castle. - Go northeast if you want some Lewonces, then northwest and east for a free Long Bow. Go down to the lower level, grab the High Potion and push the lever to open the staircase to the higher level. - Once upstairs, open the first chest to find 300 Lewonces, then go to the southeastern room for a great Strength Booster. The northeastern chest has a Cross, increasing the magic defense of any character expect Viorel. - Drop down the hole to reach the northern part of the basement. Move the two levers to open the doors, grab two more Life Herbs and go up the final stairs. - Caryneth awaits you in the final part of the castle. This battle depicts her as a regular Amazon, which should not be too hard to beat. Once she retreats, enter the last room to find it empty. The party immediately returns to Ashford, and you will not be able to go back to Nardonia for the time being. 2.4.5) Topple - You can find Jost Washbowl in Topple, but he won't give you a Thingummy unless you bring him a Pearl Necklet, which must be obtained in Eremlad. Once you have it, bring the Thingummy to the collector in Neliveth. - The inn now demands 80 Lewonces per stay, without curing poison or paralysis. 2.4.6) Ashford - There is now an office of Pherlon Magiclines Inc. in town. The wizard will send you to Razhikul or Dar Elech once you need to go there, for the exorbitant price of 500 Lewonces per trip. - One of the residents demands that you bring him a Yoshi Doll, so remember to buy one when you visit Razhikul. You will get a Humandrid Claw in return. Also talk to another man to learn that Jost Washbowl lives in Topple now. - A girl will fight with you if you want, but she's way more powerful than your characters. However, if you do win you get an Obsidian Armor (best armor in the game, for all characters!), so be sure to try again later in the game. - The inn still charges a lump sum of 50 Lewonces, and it also cures poison and paralysis. - Buy Splint Mails for all characters, as well as a Kite Shield for Iysayana. - Quiz Boy returns once you have been to Razhikul. This time you can win a Dagger of O'zeb, a very powerful weapon for Kalindra. The answers: 1. At which experience level did you start? - 40 2. What sort of creatures does not appear in this game? - Orks 3. What item is not being sold in Razhikul? - Gothic Shield 4. Who allows you to travel to foreign countries? - Pherlon Magiclines 5. How many keys did you have to find in Castle Ashford? - 2 You can visit Ruminant Tower if you want, but it is inhabited by very tough ogres and liches. On the other hand, there are very powerful items in there ... 2.4.7) Castle Ashford The Castle has been altered to a dungeon in the meantime. It is guarded by some strong Ninjas who can paralyze your characters, so remember to take Medicine with you. - You can find two Magic Potions in the southeast and a Battle Axe in the southwest. - Later in the game, you will fight Bryan on the second floor. He can use several attack spells, but shouldn't be too hard to beat. - The second level has two chests that you can reach, one of them contains Medicine, the other one the West Key. Use it to enter the northwestern part of the first floor, then grab the Miracle Potion and pull the lever. Return to the second floor, get the Life Booster from the northwestern chest and 1200 Lewonces from the one to the northeast if you want, then drop down the hole and move the second lever. Go to the southern part of the second floor to find the East Key, then go to the northeastern part of the first level, where you can find a Splint Mail and the final lever. - Lord Shadmyr awaits you on the third level. After some small talk, the heroes will be rescued by rebellious soldiers. Your next task is to get the Holy Light Armor from a cave in Nardonia, with Dimitri replacing Viorel in your party. 2.4.8) Erzibeth's Home - One of the soldiers has a Fate Booster for sale, increasing the luck of one of your characters. Head back to the city and talk to the wizard for a warp to Razhikul, another town in Nardonia. You can walk back to Neliveth and the Mystic Skulls from there. 2.4.9) Razhikul Once you arrive, return to Ashford again to meet Quiz Boy and get his weapon. The trips will cost a lot of money, however. - There is another wizard who can send you back to Ashford. Later in the game you can also go to Dar Elech, but that is a waste of money, as Scrolls of Flying are sold there. - Buy Full Helms and Bastard Swords for Iysayana and Dimitri (or wait for the Great Axe in the next cave), and Wizard Swords for Odilbert and Kalindra (if she doesn't have the Dagger of O'zeb). Also equip Dimitri with a Splint Mail and a Kite Shield, and all characters with a Cross. - The inn is very expensive demanding 180 Lewonces per stay. Like the one in Ashford, it can cure both poison and paralysis. - You can buy Yoshi Dolls for 200 Lewonces. You need only one of them to exchange it for the Humandrid Claw in Ashford. - There is a chest containing a Life Booster, protected by a force field. Return later in the game to get it. 2.4.10) Uncle Cave Go north from Razhikul to find the cave. - There is a Great Axe to be found in the southwest, an Archmage Potion and 600 Lewonces in the southeast, 360 Lewonces in the northwest and a Fate Booster and a High Potion in the northeast. - You will have to defeat a Lich Warrior before you can grab the armor (a common enemy found in later dungeons). But Paulinus will show up and yoink it. That buffoon. 2.4.11) Phool - There is another chest protected by a force field here. Come back later to find a Magic Guard. - You can still rest for free in Iysayana's house. - Buy Gothic Shields for Iysayana and Dimitri. - Exchange the Humandrid Claw from Ashford for a Rabbit Skin. 2.4.12) Cave of Vision / Yw'nafob Temple - Go south at the first intersection to find a Wizard Sword. On your way north you will find a High Potion. On the second level head southeast for a chest with a Power Booster. - In the temple, go northeast until you find a switch, then push it. Go west to find another switch that opens the door to the northern part of the temple, then south and east for a chest with three Life Herbs (opened by the eastern switch). - The northern part has two more switches to push; the northeastern one opens the next door, the northwestern one opens the western chest containing a Life Booster. One of the chests in the middle has a Gothic Shield. - Talk to Lisa to receive two Magic Guards, greatly increasing the Magic Defense of the characters wearing them. The two chests contain a Miracle Potion and a Nimbleness Booster. Return to Castle Ashford for the next cut scene. After a long talk, Iysayana, Odilbert and Viorel will set out to find Erzibeth. You can now ask the wizards to send you to Dhavoni. 2.4.13) Dar Elech - You can use the wizard to go back to Ashford or Razhikul, but this is not recommended. Instead, buy Scrolls of Flying at the guild, they are much cheaper; use them on the overworld map to return to any town you have already visited. - The inn demands 240 Lewonces per stay, curing poison and paralysis. You can reach the chests via the back door, they contain a Power Booster and an Antidote. - Buy Arcanium Wands at the guild for Odilbert and Viorel, and a Morning Star, a Plate Mail and a Tower Shield for Iysayana and Great Crowns for the others at the weapon store. - One of the wizards needs the Rabbit Skin you got in Phool. You will get a Love Potion in exchange. - If you have solved the first quiz then the Quiz Master awaits you here. Answer his questions to win a Magic Guard. 1. At which experience level did Dimitri start this episode? - 45 2. What is the collector in Neliveth looking for? - Thingummy 3. Which spell is used to bring back defeated characters? - Revival 4. What great power did Paulinus steal? - Sword of Naayit 5. Which of these towns has only one store? - Topple 6. What sort of creatures does not appear in this game? - Vogons 7. What is the name of the inn in Ashford? - The Repaired Bridge 8. What is the name of the cave near Razhikul? - Uncle Cave 9. Which of these spells can Iysayana learn? - Heal 3 10. What sort of scrolls can not be bought at the guild in Dar Elech? - Scroll of Revival - Erzibeth went to Khorim's Fortress, looks like we have to follow her. - A guy sells a Miracle Potion for 1000 Lewonces. That's very expensive, but if you have the money and want it for a possible emergency, feel free to take it. - Finally, there is a famous alchemist living in Dar Elech. Bring him the Aetherium from the Control Tower and he will create you an Angelic Sword, one of the best weapons in the game (Iysayana and Dimitri can use it). 2.4.14) Khorim's Fortress This castle is located in the southeastern desert. - You can reach the chests near the entrance by going upstairs and dropping down the corresponding holes. One of them contains Khorim's Armor, which you can exchange for an Obsidian Armor at the Mystic Skulls; the other chest includes 1480 Lewonces. The northwestern chest has four Life Potions, while the northeastern one has a Plate Armor for Iysayana. The chest in the northern part of the upper level contains a Life Herb. There are two more chests that can not be reached without Khorim's Key; once you have it, return here for another Obsidian Armor and a Comet Staff. - Go to the basement to find Erzibeth and Caryneth. This time, the self- appointed villainess will try some spells, but her physical power has decreased. After the battle, Odilbert disappears along with her. Use Erzibeth's Fly spell to return to the Mystic Skulls headquarters (you actually have to go to Neliveth or Razhikul and walk from there); talk to Benoni again and he will let Arty rejoin your party. Equip both Erzibeth and Arty with Arcanium Wands, Great Crowns and Crosses and Arty also with a Gothic Shield (he can wear a Full Helm instead of a Crown, too); you can buy all of these things at Dar Elech. Also don't forget to exchange Khorim's Armor for an Obsidian Armor (which can be equipped by any character). Once you're done, return to Castle Ashford to fight Bryan and talk to Paulinus, who presents you his new sword of mass destruction. The party runs off and runs into Kalindra again (note that only four characters can participate in battle, so the Exchange command comes into play now). Get her an Arcanium Wand (or a Dagger of O'zeb), a Plate Mail (or an Obsidian Armor) and a Great Crown. 2.4.15) Eremlad A village in the northeastern desert. - Exchange the Love Potion from Dar Elech for a Pearl Necklet. Give the Necklet to Jost in Topple to receive a Thingummy, then go back to the collector in Neliveth for the Perfect Bow, a great weapon for Arty. - A warrior has a Dagger of O'zeb for sale (5000 Lewonces); equip it on Erzibeth, Viorel or Kalindra. - A rest at the inn is 60 Lewonces. It restores your energy and cure poison, but no paralysis. - Equip Iysayana with a Katana, a Plate Armor and a Great Helm. - There is another chest protected by a force field here. Come back later to find a Strength Booster. 2.4.16) Sword Temple Enter the cave north of Eremlad to find the Temple. Check every statue you come across, some of them will open new corridors. - Open the chests to find three Life Herbs and an Archmage Potion. - A statue in the eastern room will open the chamber in the southeast, which contains another Dagger of O'zeb. Give it to Erzibeth, Viorel or Kalindra. - A statue in the western room will open a door in the center, leading to three more statues. One of them will send you to the Control Tower when you have got the Keycard. Another statue teleports you to the northwestern part of the temple; activate three more statue and get the Miracle Potion from the chest, as well as the Brain Booster from the now open southwestern chamber. - Finally, go to the northeastern part of the dungeon and check the last statues. The final chest contains a Zirco Shield (best shield in the game, usable by all characters). Afterwards, grab the Rusty Sword. An angel called Glacia will appear and challenge you to a battle. She is surprisingly easy to beat, if you watch out for her attack magic (Viorel takes double damage from Holy spells). Head back to Erzibeth's Home to meet Odilbert again. 2.4.17) Ruminant Tower / Cave - You do not need to climb the actual tower, but you can find some great items on the higher levels, namely a Magic Booster, a Life Herb, a Club of Death (excellent weapon for Odilbert and Kalindra) and a Zirco Shield. Don't forget to push the switch on the second level if necessary. - Go to the backroom of the first floor to find a now-open secret door leading to a cave. - Go straight north from the cave entrance to find Dimitri. Get him a Katana, a Plate Armor, a Tower Shield and a Great Helm (all of them can be bought in Eremlad, there is also a Katana on the second level of the cave). - The cave is rather small, but don't overlook the switch on the first level, or you will not be able to cross the river later on. Chests contain an Archmage Potion, a Katana, a Life Herb and Khorim's Key (go back to his Fortress to collect an Obsidian Armor and a Comet Staff, a great weapon for Erzibeth and Viorel). - On the third level, cross the bridge (only appears if you have pushed the button) and defeat the CF-0 (immune to all spells except dark magic, which does double damage to it). Speak to Magnus and Dyluck afterwards. Return to Erzibeth's Home once again to meet the last character to join your party, Caishee. Give her the Faerie Wand received from the Quiz King and a Cross (or a Magic Guard as well as an Obsidian Armor and a Zirco Shield if you have any available). Also visit the Mystic Skulls and speak to Benoni a final time to obtain a Keycard. 2.4.18) Control Tower To reach this place, you must return to the Sword Temple and use the Keycard on the statue in the middle. The Exit spell does not work in the tower, so be careful. There are random battles against Guard Units and CF-0s (except on the first two levels). - Follow the path and you will soon encounter an air nymph, Zephyra. While she is willing to help you, she asks that you prove yourself by defeating her in battle. She won't do anything but casting mass attack spells, so you should have one or more healers ready. However, like all characters in the game she will eventually run out of magic points, so if you survive that long you have practically won the battle. To defeat her faster, use lightning spells (other magic won't work). - After the encounter, you will find two chests. One of them contains Aetherium, which you should bring to the alchemist in Dar Elech to receive an Angelic Sword (great weapon for Iysayana and Dimitri). The other chest has a Magic Booster. - Next, you must battle a water nymph, Mizu. She has the same stats as the Air Nymph, but more hit points and different spells. She is still vulnerable to lightning, however. - After the battle, you can find two more chests with a Zirco Shield and a Club of Death. - The third nymph you will fight is Melia, an earth nymph. She has the same stats as the Water Nymph, casting darkness spells. She is also vulnerable to dark magic herself. - The left door leads to a chest with a second Comet Staff. - Vesuvia the fire nymph is the most powerful opponent in the tower. You can use ice spells to get rid of her. - The final two chests contain a Nimbleness Booster and an Obsidian Armor. - In the last room of the tower, Lisa will give you an Identity Card. The left terminal allows you to disable the force fields you saw in several towns. Talk to Lisa again and she will send you back to Dar Elech. With the force fields disabled, go back to Eremlad, Razhikul and Phool to loot the chests. Once you're ready go to the northwestern part of the Dhavonian desert and look for a path leading into the mountains. The Drake Warriors you will encounter on the Holy Mountain (including the town and the tower) sometimes drop a Ruby Circlet, the best helmet in the game for all characters. 2.4.19) Vainya - Talk to Glacia and she will revive the Sword of Frosta. Equip it on Iysayana, Dimitri or Arty. - You can find a Nimbleness Booster in the southwestern chest and a Life Herb in the northwest. - You can rest in the western "inn" to restore your energy and get rid of poison and paralysis. The cost is 250 Lewonces. - There is a store in the north, and they sell excellent stuff. Make sure everyone is equipped with an Obsidian Armor, a Zirco Shield and a Magic Guard. Caishee should have a Faerie Wand, Erzibeth and Viorel a Comet Staff, Odilbert and Kalindra a Club of Death, Arty a Perfect Bow or the Sword of Frosta and Iysayana and Dimitri an Angelic Sword or the Sword of Frosta. You should have money galore by now, so buy lots of consumable items as well. 2.4.20) Tower of the Gods The final (?) dungeon is by far the largest. There are loads of tough monsters; trying to defeat them all will take ages. You have to move several levers (to the right!) in order to disable the conveyor belts and destroy three crystal balls to get rid of the force fields. - Go west at first and find your way to the second level, then go southeast, drop down the hole and push the first lever. - Go back upstairs, then north to reach another switch on the third level. Push it, too, then return to the second level, go northeast and drop down a second hole to reach the first crystal. Destroy it, but be aware that all of your characters will lose 100-200 HP by doing so. - Go to the second level, then northwest and up the staircase to the third level, and look for two more levers up here. Move them, then go to the northeastern part of the second level, go down the stairs and then east to find and destroy the second crystal sphere (this will cause your characters to lose 200-300 HP as well as 100-200 MP). - Go to the second level once again, take the stairs to where you found the second lever and go up to level 4. Drop down the southwestern hole, look for the fifth lever and push it, then find your way back up again, use the southeastern hole and push the sixth lever. Go to the center of level 4 and use the western teleporter if you want an Obsidian Armor and an Arcanium Wand. Go to the third level again, go down the stairs in the northwest, drop down the hole to the north and destroy the third and last crystal (you will lose 300-400 HP and 200- 300 MP each). Use the middle teleport on the forth level, step into another teleporter to the south, drop down another hole and move the last lever (this is optional but will allow you to reach some chests). - On level 5, look for another teleport, then go up the stairs and grab the five Miracle Potions, five Life Herbs and five Archmage Potions. - Talk to Lisa to get fully healed, then go up to the top to confront Paulinus. Some background information will be revealed, then we finally get to beat the crap out of him. As you might have guessed at this point, Paulinus is capable of casting a nasty Paralyze spell, as well as Confuse and powerful mass attack spells, so take at least one healer into battle. He is resistant to most magic, but lightning, wind, Breath and Holy spells should work fine. Upon defeating him you obtain his Sword of Naayit, which is just as powerful as the Sword of Frosta and can be used by Viorel, Dimitri and Kalindra. It's not over yet, of course, but you do get a chance to equip the sword and get healed by Lisa (and save the game for Yw'nafob's sake). When you think you're ready, check on Paulinus again and he will eventually morph into some devil creature. This time he has an instant knockout spell, so be prepared for that. He is resistant to almost all attack spells, his great weakness being Ultimate Zero, so have Erzibeth and/or Viorel cast it for a relatively quick victory. 2.4.21) Secret Dungeon You must complete the main quest before you can enter the dungeon below the Mystic Skulls quarters. This is just an additional challenge with some guest appearances. Monsters are encountered at random, and they are really tough, so you may want to just run away or cast Exit if necessary. - Go northwest first to find the switch opening the door to the second part of the dungeon. If you still need a Ruby Circlet you can find it in the northeast. Cast Exit so you don't need to walk all the way back, then prepare for a rematch against a certain mercenary. - In the next part of the dungeon go east and then northwest to find the second switch. There is also a Zirco Shield in one of the northwestern rooms. Go north to the next door where you have to fight that elven chick again (she will use some powerful attack spells this time but has no special resistances or vulnerabilities herself). - If you want a chest with an Obsidian Armor, go east upon entering the third part, then go north and west at the second intersection. Otherwise, find your way to the switch in the northwestern corner, then go northeast to the stairs. - The final enemy turns out not to be a demon but a guest star from another series. He is completely immune to magic, so just whack away.
